Article III: Membership

Section 1 – Categories of Membership
Membership in the Section shall be of three categories:

1. Full Membership,
2. Associate Membership, and
3. Retired Membership.

Section 2 – Qualifications for Membership
Members of this section shall be members of the TRS.

1. Full Membership shall be reserved for Active members of the TRS who limit their practice to Radiation Oncology.
2. Associate Membership shall be reserved for members of the TRS with a demonstrated interest in the aims of Radiation Oncology, such as Radiologists who are unable to limit their practice to Radiation Oncology, Radiation Physicists, Radiobiologists, and other specialists with allied interests.
3. Retired Membership shall be awarded those members or fellows who have retired from the active practice of Radiation Oncology because of age or disability, such change in status shall be upon the written request of the individual member and approved by the Board of Trustees of the TRS. Retired members shall have all other privileges of the original membership status except shall not vote or hold elective office.

Section 3 — Applications for Membership
Members of the TRS seeking membership into the Section on Radiation Oncology will be accepted in the same manner and in the same method as provided for in Article I, Section 1, of the Bylaws of the TRS. The applicant will simply designate his or her preference in the Section on Radiation Oncology and the application should be endorsed by two members of the Section certifying the applicant's qualifications for membership. The names of new members in Radiation Oncology elected to the Section on Radiation Oncology will be forwarded by the Secretary of the TRS to the Secretary of the Section on Radiation Oncology for inclusion in the roster of Section members.
