Article XIII: Standing and Ad-Hoc Committees
The President shall appoint Ad-hoc committees as necessary for the proper functioning of the TRS, in addition to the following standing committees. Each standing committee shall provide a written report to the President one month prior to the annual Executive Committee meeting. Unless otherwise specified by these bylaws, the Chairs of the committees shall be appointed by the President.
Section 1 Legislative Committee
This committee should anticipate and review proposed legislation that affects the practice of radiology in the state. Their findings shall be reported to the TRS for action. The President-Elect shall be the Chair.
- The committee shall be composed of a Chair and three members. The Chair shall be appointed by the President and serve without specific limitation of term as long as his/her actions are deemed beneficial to the TRS. The three members shall be appointed by the President to serve staggered three-year terms. The committee may have at-large members as necessary to provide a broad perspective to the committee.
- The activities of the committee shall be overseen and approved by the President-Elect as Chair of the Judicial and Governmental Council.

Section 2 Judicial Affairs Committee
This committee shall investigate charges of unethical conduct or malfeasance by a member of the TRS, as well as denials of membership by the Membership Committee, and shall transmit its recommendations to the Executive Committee of the TRS.
- The Board of Trustees shall act as the Judicial Affairs Committee.
- The Immediate Past-President shall Chair the committee.
- A two-thirds vote of the Committee is required to move the recommendation for denial or revocation of membership privileges to the Executive Committee, which decides the issue according to the provisions for discipline of the Bylaws of the ACR.

Section 3 Program Committee
The Program Committee is composed of three individual subcommittees, the Diagnostic Radiology Program Committee, the Radiation Oncology Program Committee, and the Resident Program Committee. These committees are responsible for preparing the educational programs for the annual TRS meeting, and other efforts in continuing education as appropriate. The activities of each of the committees shall be overseen and approved by the First-Vice President as Chair of the Education Council.
- Diagnostic Radiology Program Committee shall be chaired by the senior member of the committee.
- The committee shall be responsible for constructing the annual Diagnostic Radiology Program and inviting selected speakers.
- The committee shall be composed of three members who are appointed by the President to serve staggered three-year terms. The committee may have at-large members as necessary to provide a broad perspective to the committee.
- Radiation Oncology Program Committee shall be chaired by the senior member of the committee.
- The committee shall be responsible for constructing the annual Radiation Oncology Program and inviting selected speakers.
- The committee shall be composed of three members who are appointed by the President to serve staggered three-year terms. The committee may have at-large members as necessary to provide a broad perspective to the committee.
- Resident Program Committee shall be chaired by the Chair of the Resident Physician Committee
- The committee shall be responsible for constructing the annual Resident Program and inviting selected speakers.
- The committee shall be composed of the Chair of the Resident Physician Committee, the Chair of the Texas APDR, and the three Officers of the Resident Physician Section. The committee may have at-large members as necessary to provide a broad perspective to the committee.

Section 4 Local Arrangements Committee
This committee shall work together with the Executive Director to help plan the meetings for the following three years.
- The committee shall be composed of three members who are chosen based on their city of residence in relation to the site of the upcoming meetings. The members shall be appointed by the President to serve staggered 3-year terms; the senior member of the committee shall serve as the Chair with his/her city of residence coinciding with the site of the upcoming meeting
- The activities of the committee shall be overseen and approved by the First Vice-President as Chair of the Education Council.

Section 5 Resident Physician Committee
This committee shall act as a liaison to the Resident Physician Section of the TRS and shall help them prepare the resident program for the annual TRS meetings, as well as encourage and coordinate Members in Training to participate in the various projects and meetings of the TRS. The President shall appoint the Chair.

Section 6 Membership Committee
This committee shall be responsible for monitoring membership and designing and executing a membership retention/recruitment plan, its actions
- The committee shall be composed of three members who are appointed by the President to serve staggered three-year terms. The committee shall be chaired by the senior member. The committee may have at-large members as necessary to provide a broad geographic representation.
- The actions of the committee shall be overseen and approved by the Second Vice-President as Chair of the Member Services Council.

Section 7 Long Range Planning Committee
This committee should prepare a three-year activity plan for the TRS and should annually update this written plan to coordinate it with the goals and objectives of the TRS and the College.

Section 8 Bylaws Committee
This committee shall annually review the bylaws of the TRS and submit any proposed changes to the Secretary so that such proposed changes can be submitted to the Executive Committee at least forty-five days prior to the annual business meeting, at which proposed amendments are voted upon.
- The committee shall review any proposals by the Executive Committee as to changes in bylaws.
- The specific proposed amendments shall be distributed to the membership of the Chapter by the Secretary no less than thirty days prior to the annual business meeting, either by mail or on the TRS web-site.

Section 9 Nominating Committee
This committee shall present nominations for the office of Second Vice-President, Councilors, Alternate Councilors, and members of the following years Nominating Committee to the annual business meeting.
- The Nominating Committee shall be composed of the Board of Trustees and three members of the Chapter to be elected at the annual business meeting. No more than one elected member of the Nominating Committee shall come from any single Councilor District. The Past President shall serve as Chair.
- The list of candidates selected by the Nominating Committee shall be presented to the interim fall meeting of the Executive Committee and shall be distributed to the membership no later than 30 days prior to the annual business meeting by mail or on the TRS web-site.

Section 10 ACR Resolutions Committee
This Committee shall receive proposals for resolutions from the membership of the Chapter to be presented to the Council of the ACR at its annual meeting. The Committee shall draft these resolutions and present them to the Executive Committee for approval. The Chief Councilor shall serve as Chair. Members shall be appointed by the Chief Councilor in consultation with the President.

Section 11 Fellowship Committee
This committee shall review the membership of the TRS annually for the purpose of nominating members to fellowship in the ACR. This committee should be composed of Fellows of the College. The Chief Councilor shall serve as chair of this committee, assuming that the Chief Councilor is a fellow of the ACR. If the Chief Councilor is not an ACR fellow, the chair shall be appointed by the President.

Section 12 Nuclear Radiology Committee (Ad-Hoc Committee)
The Nuclear Radiology Committee will be activated and appointed only when deemed necessary by the President. This committee when activated shall monitor the activities of state and federal nuclear regulatory agencies; respond for the TRS to requests for input on proposed changes in state and federal regulations and policies having to do with radiation; maintain surveillance of problem areas and socioeconomic issues relevant to the practice of nuclear medicine or nuclear radiology by radiologists, and report to the Chair of the Practice Council; provide guidance to the TRS Program Committee as to topics and speakers on nuclear radiology for the Annual Meeting; foster participation in the activities of the TRS by physicians practicing nuclear medicine or nuclear radiology.
- This committee shall consist of three members, one of whom shall be appointed as Chair by the President.
- The Chair shall represent the committee to the Executive Committee of the TRS.

Section 13 Technologist Advisory Committee (Ad-Hoc Committee)
The Technologist Advisory Committee will be activated and appointed only when deemed necessary by the President. This committee when activated shall assist organizations and individuals in projects and programs undertaken to advance radiologic technology.

Section 14 Radiology Practice Committee (Ad-Hoc Committee)
The Radiologic Practice Committee will be activated and appointed only when deemed necessary by the President. This committee when activated shall be charged with the duty of assisting members of the TRS in the practice economics of radiology in accordance with the principles and policies of the ACR. This committee will also interface with third-party insurance carriers. When activated, the primary Medicare Liaisons shall serve as co-chairs.

Section 15 Communications Committee
This committee shall serve as a body to integrate information about radiology and communicate it to our members and the public in general; shall promote the specialty of radiology and enhance it in the eyes of the public; shall work with the public relations staff at Texas Medical Association and ACR and with the TRS Executive Committee to strengthen public awareness of radiology; shall enhance press awareness of the annual meeting; become aware of educational materials, films and videotapes and make offerings of exceptional quality known to the membership so that they may find use in local communities; shall coordinate a speaker's bureau; and shall prepare and publish on a regular basis the TRS newsletter, The View Box. The chair shall be appointed by the President and shall be the editor of The View Box.

Section 16 Finance Committee
This committee shall submit an annual budget for approval by the Executive Committee at the mid-year meeting. It shall also submit a financial report to the Executive Committee at both the annual and mid-year meetings. The committee shall be composed of the Treasurer, the President, the President-Elect, and the First Vice President. The Treasurer shall serve as Chair.

Section 17 Information Technology Committee
This committee shall research and establish an independent server architecture for the TRS, and subsequently establish web-based software applications to simplify and streamline administration and improve collaboration within the TRS. This committee will also help with the decision-making involved in the selection and purchase/rental of software and equipment such as LCD’s, computers, audience response systems, etc.
- The committee shall be composed of a Chair and at least two other members who are appointed by the President. The term of office shall be for one year with reappointment at the discretion of the President. The committee may have at-large members as necessary to provide a broad perspective to the committee.
- The actions of the Committee shall be overseen and approved by the Secretary as the Chair of the Information Council

Section 18 Political Action Committee
This committee shall make all decisions regarding TRS Political Action Committee funding, administrative operations, and disbursement of funds.
- The Committee shall be composed of a Chair, Treasurer, and three members specifically from the Legislative Committee for a total of five members. The Chair and Treasurer shall be appointed by the President and serve without specific limitation of term as long as his/her actions are deemed beneficial to the TRS. Membership on the Legislative Committee is not required but preferred for the Chair and Treasurer. The three remaining members shall be appointed by the President to serve staggered three-year terms.
- The activities of the committee shall be overseen and approved by the President-elect as Chair of the Judicial and Governmental Council.
