Article XVI: Dues and Assessments

1. All Active and Associate Members, Fellows, Members in Physics, Associate Members in Physics, and Fellows in Physics shall pay dues or assessments in an amount based upon a budget prepared by the Executive Committee and approved by the Members at the annual meeting.
2. Members in Training, Members in Training in Physics, Honorary, Retired, and Temporarily Inactive Members shall not pay dues or assessments.
3. Members-in-Training or Members-in-Training-in-Physics become members of the Society on completion of their training period. They are not billed for the remainder of the year in which they finish their training, nor are they billed for the following 1-year billing cycle.
4. Assessments may not be levied on dues-paying members except upon recommendation of the Executive Committee and approval by a majority vote at the annual business meeting of the TRS, notice of such recommendation having been given to the membership at the web-site no fewer than 30 days prior to the annual business meeting.
5. Names of members in arrears in payment of dues or assessments shall be referred to the Executive Committee for action.
