Congrats to our TRS 2012 Gold Medal Recipient, Dr. Robert Parkey!
Robert W. Parkey, MD, FACR received the TRS' highest honor - the TRS Gold medal - at the TRS' 99th Annual Scientific Meeting held in San Antonio, March 2-4, 2012.
Dr. Parkey served as the Chairman of the Department of Radiology at UT Southwestern in Dallas for 33 years. During that time he contributed enormously to the practice of radiology by teaching over 3000 medical students and 900 residents and fellows. He is extensively published, with over 180 manuscripts, 28 chapters and 50 proceedings which have been extensively cited. His most renowned publications are in the area of radionuclide imaging of myocardial infarction.
